Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Week
For Healthy Body, Healthy Mind Week, KG and Primary students learned the importance of being both physically and mentally healthy.
2020欧洲杯在线投注The children were involved in many fun and engaging activities throughout the week, including exercising, cooking, meditating, a Master Chef Competition, games, a visit to the dentist, nutrition talks, and sharing kindness with their peers.
Each day, children had an extra 40 minutes’ physical activity to help them to understand the importance of being active and how it impacts our brain and emotional state. The kids took part in yoga, dance and freeze, and various other physical activities.
Through conversations with experts, the children acquired knowledge of how to better take care of themselves. The students learned about first aid for nosebleeds, handling headaches, proper hand washing, brushing their teeth and even designing a nutritional, balanced diet for themselves.
In addition to lessons about maintaining a healthy body, students linked their topics about maintaining a healthy mind to individual learning goals. Activities focused on spreading kindness around school. On Tuesday, they were asked to donate a toy and make a colourful card to give to the children at a local pediatric hospital. This was a great opportunity for them to think about and give to those less fortunate.
